Symposium Addresses Occupational Lung Diseases

Occupational lung diseases have long challenged physicians, but expert speakers in Monday morning’s symposium on “Surveillance, Early Detection, and Prevention of Occupational Lung Diseases” will give ATS International Conference participants an in-depth look at a wide range of conditions and disease. The program will be from 8:15 to 10:45 a.m. in Grand Ballroom E (Level 5) Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.

Working Group Meets on Fibrosis

To build on the momentum of previous meetings regarding fibrosis research, representatives from academia, industry, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, and patient advocacy groups took part in the Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology Assembly Working Group on Lung Fibrosis at ATS 2013 on Sunday afternoon.

Opening Ceremony Looks at the History, Future of ATS

On Saturday, attendees gathered for the ATS 2013 Opening Ceremony, which paid homage to host city Philadelphia—the birthplace of American medicine—and recounted the Society’s illustrious history. ATS leaders also shared their vision for the future of the Society.
