Join ATS members and leaders to make your voices heard during a one-hour rally on Capitol Hill Tuesday afternoon. ATS Rally at the U.S. Capitol: Lab Coats for Lungs will start at 5:30 p.m. at Upper Senate Park, across Constitution Avenue from the U.S. Capitol and Delaware Avenue from the Russell Senate Office Building.
The rally has been organized to show ATS support of scientific research, access to health care, and other ATS public health priorities. Be a champion for your colleagues and the patients you serve. Learn more at conference.thoracic.org/go/rally and follow the event on social media through the hashtag: #ATSadvocacy.
Sens. Ed Markey (D-MA) and Tom Carper (D-DE) have been invited to speak at the rally, along with ATS President David Gozal, MD, MBA; President-Elect Marc Moss, MD; Vice President Polly Parsons, MD; and the Chief of Advocacy & Government Relations Gary Ewart, MHS.
“When the Administration proposes cuts to the National Institutes of Health, it directly impacts my career, my institution and the professional lives of my colleagues,” Dr. Gozal says. “When the White House and Congress consider health reform legislation that cuts millions of Americans from the Medicaid program—it directly impacts my patients. It’s personal.”
