Denver will host the ATS International Conference May 13-18, 2011.

The 2011 ATS International Conference will be held at the base of the Rocky Mountains in the “mile-high” city of Denver, Colorado, from May 13 to 18, 2011.

While Denver is famous for snow skiing, the capital of Colorado also boasts 300 days of sunshine a year. It’s a lively city, which has the nation’s largest city park system, 90 golf courses and 650 miles of paved bike trails.

The city’s bustling downtown area is centered on a mile-long pedestrian promenade that’s lined with outdoor cafés. Every street offers mountain views—in fact, the mountain panorama visible from Denver is 120 miles long and includes nearly 200 named peaks.

Downtown Denver is also home to three new sports stadiums, 300 restaurants, a historic district, and a variety of museums and galleries. It also has the second-largest performing arts center in the U.S., and three colleges, as well as Six Flags Elitch Gardens—a unique downtown amusement park.

LoDo—Denver’s trendy downtown historic district—features restored Victorian buildings, which house more than 90 sports bars, brew pubs, jazz clubs and restaurants. Denver’s music scene continues to grow, helped by its spectacular concert venues, including the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a 9,000-seat arena carved out of gigantic red rock boulders.

Denver is quickly gaining a reputation for its innovative young chefs and eclectic, diverse cuisine with a Western flair. There are more than 2,000 restaurants in the metro area that serve unique native dishes, such as buffalo burgers and rattlesnake tails. Denver beers are as much as a draw as the food—more than 80 different beers are brewed in the city.

In addition, Denver is known for its shopping hubs and small stores that offer local delicacies. From the classy Cherry Creek Shopping Center to the downtown buzz of Denver Pavilions, there are dozens of shopping venues.

Whether it’s a free tour of the Coors Brewery or a trek to Buffalo Bill’s grave, you will have plenty of opportunities for fun while you are in Denver for ATS 2011.
