The Lancet in collaboration with the ATS will update ATS 2013 attendees on tobacco control policies in the U.S., Europe, and Asia during a Tuesday afternoon scientific symposium, C91 “The Global Burden of Tobacco Related Lung Disease.” Presenters will examine the strengths and weaknesses of tobacco regulation as a means to reduce the burden of tobacco-related disease and review treatment strategies for tobacco addiction. The chairs of the program will be Sabine Kleinert, MD, Alexander White, MD, MS, and David Sachs, MD. During the conference, an edition of The Lancet including review articles by the speakers and an education tool will be published. The symposium will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 120 A-B-C (100 Level) Pennsylvania Convention Center.
