Four to Receive Awards for Scientific Accomplishments

As the premier gathering of clinicians and scientists committed to advancing pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine, the ATS International Conference is an important venue for recognizing individuals who are leaders in these fields for their extraordinary contributions to and achievements in lung disease research, treatment and prevention.

The following individuals will be honored today during the “Recognition Awards for Scientific Accomplishments” at 2 p.m. in the Korbel Ballroom 2A-3A on the lower level of the Colorado Convention Center.

These awards are given to individuals for outstanding scientific contributions in basic or clinical research to the understanding, prevention and treatment of lung disease.

Those considered for the awards are recognized for either scientific contributions throughout their careers or for major contributions at a particular point in their careers.

Each awardee will make a 25-minute presentation about his research.
