Hands-on Postgraduate Courses Advance Your Skills

Hands On

Attendees gain practical skills during postgraduate courses.

Attendees interested in learning about new areas of medicine, filling knowledge gaps, and sharpening their skills will find great value in the 25 postgraduate courses and a nursing workshop that will be offered on May 16 and 17. Building on the success of the hands-on learning sessions presented last year, the following seven practical skills courses have been programmed:

  • PG1 State of the Art: Interventional Pulmonology in 2014
  • PG2 Incorporating Ultrasound and Echocardiography into ICU Practice
  • PG3 ICU Monitoring: Bedside Physiology to Clinical Data
  • PG4 Technological Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Sleep Disordered Breathing
  • PG9 Field and Laboratory Exercise Testing for Patients with Pulmonary Disease
  • PG25 Bronchoscopy Course and Workshop
  • WN1 Respiratory Nursing Skills Update

“We recognize that there are increasing demands on physicians and researchers to keep up to date on the latest advances and learn new skills—and yet they are given less time to do so,” says ATS Education Committee Chair Carey C. Thomson, MD, MPH, director of Pulmonary Consultants and associate director of critical care at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. “These postgraduate courses have been designed to address this reality.”

Advance registration is required and seats fill up fast, so sign up today. For more ideas, read “Round out your ATS Itinerary with Sunrise Seminars, Meet the Professors, Workshops, and Thematic Seminar Series.”
