Guru Bars: Learning in Less Time

Don’t miss these quick-burst learning sessions that allow you to collaborate with leaders on a variety of topics. Every Guru Bar session offers a 10-minute outline of a problem statement, mitigating factors, the host’s perspective/solution, and a challenge or question posted to participants, who discuss it for the remaining 5 to 10 minutes.

PAR Forum Connects Patients and Physicians

The popular ATS Public Advisory Roundtable Meet-the-Experts patient education forum is back for its 12th year. This can’t-miss free event for patients and their families will take place Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s panelists will share talks around the theme “Living Well and Lung Health.”

Patients Have a Voice at the ATS International Conference

For more than a decade, the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable has led an effort to bring the patient’s voice to many International Conference sessions. At ATS 2018, 16 patients will talk about their experience with critical illness, COPD, sleep apnea, and sarcoidosis, as well as talk about how health disparities have affected them and their experience of palliative care, among other topics.

BEAR Cage Finalists Compete for $5,000

In hopes of winning a grand prize of $5,000, three early career professionals will “pitch” their innovative research proposals to a panel of translational science experts in front of a live audience during the ATS BEAR Cage competition from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, May 21, in the Center for Career Development in the Sail Pavilion at the San Diego Convention Center.
