MOC Takes Center Stage at ATS 2014

More than 450 attendees are taking part in the ATS 2014 Adult and Pediatric Clinical Core programs to earn American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Medical Knowledge Points and American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Part 2 Self-Assessment Credits. Participants can take their post-tests in the Learning Lab adjacent to the Clinicians Center in Lobby D (Ground Level) San Diego Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Wednesday.

As clinicians and those who fund health care attempt to increase access and build capacity, approaches that can facilitate care without additional patient travel are of great interest. The symposium “Tele-Technology in the Management of COPD” from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in 11 A-B (Upper Level) San Diego Convention Center, will explore the growing role of tele-technology for patients with chronic respiratory disease.

TB Study: African-Americans Diagnosed More Quickly Than Whites

The time from onset of tuberculosis to diagnosis is longer in whites versus African-Americans, according to a study presented Monday during “Update from CDC’s TB Epidemiologic Studies Consortium and TB Trials Consortium.”
