ATS 2013 Medical Student Scholars Program

medStudentsATS Secretary-Treasurer Atul Malhotra, MD (far right), poses with the ATS 2013 Medical Student Scholars, medical students invited to attend ATS 2013 free of charge from the Temple University School of Medicine, Drexel University College of Medicine, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and Thomas Jefferson University—Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Malhotra and the Members in Transition and Training Committee created the program to attract more students to the pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine fields.

“Our orientation was great,” says scholar Katherine Clark, a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania. “They really guided us and provided us with a good sense of mentorship upfront and explained how to get the most out of the conference. I was very impressed by the leadership so far, and it’s more than I’ve received at other conferences.”
